Entering The Shadowlands...

Don't make me kill you.
You are walking through a misty haze across an open moore. It stretches out endlessly all around, or at least, so it would appear. The limited visibility and the uneven ground combine to create some very strange illusions. You think at first that the figure standing in front of you is just a trick of the mist, but as you draw closer, you realise it is not. When you are only a few yards from the figure, they whirl around, some kind of weapon raised. You see that the creature is a long-furred, black and grey anthropomorphic cat, wearing a red cloak. When she sees you, she relaxes and lowers the weapon. "You walk softly, stranger," she observes, looking you up and down. "I thought for a moment you were one of the shadow-creatures. Some of them are pretty dangerous; You gotta be careful out here. Nice to meet you, I'm Silhouette." A cold wind kicks up, thinning the mist so that you can see the hills with more clarity, and you notice a forest not far off as well. The cat speaks again. "Few people walk the shadowland without purpose. I suppose you're here to adopt one of the endangered creatures? Follow me, then. But first..." She hands you a sheet of parchment.
